Radiation controlled areas
These are clearly marked and special rules exist to
help keep people working in or around these areas
safe.
Sometimes a temporary Radiation Controlled Area may be set up to
take x-rays on a ward or other similar places.
When an x-ray is being done, stand back
from the patient being x-rayed and follow all
instructions from the radiographer.
Radiation exposure at low doses carries a
small risk
The use of all radiation carries a small risk of harm to anyone
working with it or close by it.
