Our Workforce Race Equality Network (WREN) is open to any Black, Asian and
Minority Ethnic STSFT member of staff to share their experiences and help the Trust
become a more inclusive organisation for all. The network is also open to allies and
staff who wish to consult members.
At our last meeting members shared their reflections in the wake of the Sunderland
riots and we discussed financial pressures as we were joined by Allanah Busby from
the Trust's credit union, Serve and Protect. Allanah will be running an education
workshop for network members in November. We talked about pressures faced by all
staff but also those pressures unique to internationally educated staff. The network
was joined by Elizabeth James to discuss Thrive mental health services and how we
can promote the service to our Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic colleagues.
The network's rearranged South Asian Heritage Heritage Month celebration event
will take place on 7th November, 4-6pm at SRH Lecture Theatre and is open to all
staff to learn more about the culture of their colleagues.
