LGBT+ Staff Network Updates

Positive Health Staff Network Update

Our Positive Health Staff Network is open to any member of staff who

has a long term health condition or cares for someone who does. The

network is a safe space for staff to discuss their conditions, get support

and guidance from colleagues and help us improve staff experience.

At our last meeting the network was joined by Stephen Dodd, Head of Library Services who

came to talk about the wellbeing services that the library provide. The network also discussed

support available to Disabled colleagues when off work and elected a new Co-Chair Andrew

Smith who joins Vickie Swindle in leading the network.

WREN Staff Network Update

Our Workforce Race Equality Network (WREN) is open to any Black,

Asian and Minority Ethnic STSFT member of staff to share their

experiences and help the Trust become a more inclusive

organisation for all. The network is also open to allies and staff who

wish to consult members.

This month members shared their experiences, positive and negative, of working in our Trust

as we discussed our WRES findings and tried to understand the real experiences behind the

data. The network was joined by Lynda Nwaokweanwa, one of the chairs of the joint decision

making council for Internationally Educated Nurses, who talked about their projects and ways

we can work together.

The LGBT+ Staff Network is open to any STSFT member of staff who

identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender along with

those who have a fluid sexuality or gender. The network is a safe

space to get support from colleagues and help the Trust improve

experiences for all.
