Spotlight on Innovation within STSFT
On March 20 the STSFT Innovation team welcomed
over 60 attendees to the Innovation Showcase.
The event looked back on some of the projects
which had been completed within the last 12
months and helped to show the support that is
available for innovators. We also officially launched
our Innovation Strategy and the Innovation Grant
Competition.
There were talks from:
• Northumbria University and TUCan Studios
from Teesside University).
• The SALT team and a patient who was involved
with their cookbook project. They talked about
the positive impact that innovation has on the
patient experience aspect of innovation.
• The Emergency department team and the
company (Samson Forth) who have helped
to get the shoulder bench to a commercial
product.
These talks were well received by colleagues. We
received a lot of feedback around how they had
inspired potential ideas within their own teams.
Also how they can see projects from concept to a
finished product.
The day ended with how 'Unmet Needs' projects
work, and how the Innovation team can help turn
problems into projects.
