On Friday 18th October, Sunderland Royal Hospital* alongside other buildings across
the North East were lit up red to mark Show Racism the Red Cards' annual Wear Red
Day.Some staff even wore red to show their commitment to anti-racism! We asked
colleagues to send us pictures of any buildings or themselves in red to enter into our
prize draw and Patricia Nwole won themselves a copy of one of our inclusion books.
Wear Red Day is an annual awareness-raising event, created by anti-racism Education
Charity Show Racism the Red Card. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Wear
Red Day.
Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) is the UK's leading anti-racism educational
charity. It was established in January 1996. Over the years, Show Racism the Red
Card has delivered anti-racism education sessions to over a million people. This
includes school-children and adults including teachers, civil servants and NHS
workers.
