Care Act(2014)- Safeguarding Adult Review
(SAR)
Section 44 of the Care Act states that a SAB must arrange for a
Safeguarding Adults Review (SAR) to be undertaken in the
following situations:
• If an adult has died OR if an adult has experienced serious
abuse and neglect and is still alive
AND
• There is reasonable cause for concern about how the Board and
its partner agencies worked together to safeguard that adult
A SAB also has the discretion to arrange a SAR in any other
situation.
