Making Safeguarding Personal(MSP)
The Care Act advocates a person-centred rather than process-driven
approach to safeguarding practice.
MSP is therefore about having conversations with people on how to
respond in safeguarding situations in a way that enhances involvement,
choice and control as well as improving quality of life, wellbeing and
safety.
All staff should make sure people know what to expect from
safeguarding support, how they can participate and what outcome they
want from the raised concern.
We should ensure that communication strategies convey that MSP is at
the heart of our Trust and supports people in participating and making
choices
